Torfaen based family business, The Pure Option (formerly known as Purely Disposables) which has recently undergone a rebranding programme, has won three prestigious awards in two months. The business scooped the business of the month from smallbusiness.co.uk before winning the Enviromental Business of the Year at the South Wales Argus Business Awards plus scooping a finalist award for the Start-up business of the year awards.
The business supplies a range of 150+ products made from plants which are designed to break down in 13 weeks to create an earth friendly compost.
Managing Director Charles Richardson said “We first thought about the business in 2003 but the time to start the business felt right in 2016 when we noticed attitudes were changing in this industry. We are committed to helping people change to more environmentally friendly plastic packaging. Our future plans are really exciting.”
When asked how she felt about the business winning the Environmental Business of the Year Award Financial Director Deb Richardson said “We were up against some well-respected and established firms and were delighted to be recognised for our work. The award will certainly help us to get the message out there about our values, our products and how easy it is to eliminate single use plastic.”
The Pure Option is based in Abersychan, Pontypool, and Torfaen.
